Cookie policy
Every cookie and storage entry this site can set, what it is for, and how to change your mind. Last updated 31 August 2026.
1. The short version
This site sets three strictly necessary items — your cookie choice, an anti-forgery token on the forms, and an abuse counter. Nothing else is set unless you switch it on. If you choose “Reject all”, no analytics or advertising technology loads at all, and nothing about your visit is sent to an advertising network.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using , which is also in the footer of every page. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving consent, which is what Article 7(3) GDPR requires.
2. Categories
Strictly necessary (always on)
Keeps the site working: your cookie choice, the anti-forgery token on the pitch and contact forms, and abuse rate limiting. These are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure site and cannot be switched off.
Analytics (off by default)
Aggregate measurement of which pages are read and which paths lead to a pitch submission. Off unless you turn it on.
Advertising measurement (off by default)
Lets us see whether an advertisement led to a pitch submission, using the Microsoft advertising tag. Off unless you turn it on. No advertising tag is loaded and no advertising identifier is read while this is off.
3. The full list
| Name | Type | Party | Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| cuiz.consent.v1 | localStorage | First party | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie choice so you are not asked again on every page. | Until you clear it, or until the consent version changes. |
| cuiz_csrf | Cookie | First party | Strictly necessary | Anti-forgery token that ties a submitted form to the browser session that requested it. | Session cookie - removed when you close the browser. |
| cuiz_rl | Cookie | First party | Strictly necessary | Abuse control. Counts form submissions from this browser so the forms cannot be flooded. | 2 hours. |
| _uetsid / _uetvid / MUID | Cookie | Microsoft (third party) | Advertising measurement | Microsoft advertising tag. Measures whether an advertisement led to a pitch submission. Set only if you turn advertising measurement on. | _uetsid 24 hours, _uetvid up to 13 months, MUID up to 13 months. |
4. Microsoft Consent Mode
Where advertising measurement is used, this site implements Microsoft Consent Mode v2. In practice that means a consent signal is sent before any advertising tag can read or write anything, and its default value is denied for both advertising storage and analytics storage. The signal is only updated to granted after you make an affirmative choice, and it is set back to denied the moment you withdraw it.
At the time of writing no advertising tag is installed on this site. The consent framework is in place and the default-denied signal is sent, so that if a tag is added later it cannot run before a choice has been made. The table above documents the cookies such a tag would set, so this page is already accurate on the day it is switched on.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
Browsers can block or delete cookies independently of this site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the contact and pitch forms from submitting, because the anti-forgery token cannot be established. Clearing your browser storage also clears your cookie choice, so this site will ask again on your next visit.
